Melio is a great solution to make and receive payments. Many of my clients were losing large amounts to processing fees, this service allows us to pass on that expense to the payer who chooses credit card payments. It also benefits those were prefer to receive payments via ACH and it actually alerts you when payments are deposited.
Nothing, its very easy to use. Its B2B so maybe add an option that allows payments from individuals.
it gives greater flexibility for payment processing and receiving. When paying you are able to have an approval process.
Melio offers incredibly easy handling of processing payments , so much so that it has integrated tracking of invoices and a super easy and intuitive interface allowing clients to easily pay balances
The only thing I dislike is the lack of support for European countries, I do a lot of businesses internationally and sometimes its difficult having to juggle processors
I was able to hand off credit card fees to my clients over having to constantly pay a 2.9% service charge and having to deal with potential chargebacks on paypal and other platforms.
I like the memo showing on the bank feed in QuickBooks Online. It is much easier for me to classify transactions without bothering the client.
I have had some trouble connecting small banks to Melio. That has only been a problem when there is a time crunch.
It allows me to bother my client less for help with classifications. My wish list would include being able to classify under more than one QBO category please!
Melio is one of the best tools to pay for vendors and contractors with no additional cost to start. It's free to use and has the free forever plan to use and gain experience.
It's kind of like a complete tool. We have not felt so far any lack into the system as we have been recommending Melio to our clients for their business use to ease.
Melio helped our clients and us pay their vendors, contractors, and working professionals, receive payments, raise invoices, and so on. It's one of the best tools we are recommending now.
It's affordable, intuitive, and easy to use.
1. That it doesn't allow/encourage our clients to make prepayments for services which we require 2. That it doesn't yet work in every country
We're able to easily pay our vendors via direct deposit with nearly one click and we're able to easily (re)view invoices
The fact that there is no charge for ACH payments
That it can only be used for business accounts
It saves me time and money getting my invoices paid. Very efficient.
1. Melio gives me the option to let clients pay electronically, without fees via ACH or debt 2. Melio alows me to send money to contractors more reliably than my bank, again without fees 3. I find clients are more likely to pay, and pay more quickly, with Melio 4. The interface is just better than my bank's interface 5. Melio referral program is a big bonus: https://kingcow.com/melio 6. Excellent customer support starting up - but I haven't had to use it much at all!
While the send-check function is still worlds-better than the 1990s style interface that my bank offers, the interface could be improved by allowing me to type in specific information for each line to be printed on a mailing envelope. Support sent me a pdf of the guidelines. The whole process should be more WYSIWYG in the browser and allow for multi-line addresses for multi-department businesses.
Before Melio, getting paid via ACH or Debt was hard to do online. Melio is the most direct-bank-accounting-integrated service I could find with a fee-free option. Melio also "just works" when compared to my national bank interface, which is far less flexible and crashes on iOS.
I like that Melio is integrated with QBO. I never have to leave Quickbooks to take care of AP.
I like that you can batch pay invoices, but the issue I have is when I do this, the invoice number is not transferred to the memo. Instead, it contains a product description.
There are only two things I would like to see change. I would like the invoice number to show in the memo of the payment when I batch pay and to be able to access the melio payment ID from QBO.
This service saves me so much time and makes it very easy to make payments to our vendors.
I wish the integration with QBO worked a little faster, but overall I'm pretty satisfied.
I don't have to write checks to many of my vendors now and I can also pay some via ACH.
Great for automating payments! In just a few clicks you can automate all your monthly expenses.
Not being able to pay all my vendors with Melio. Vendors that send invoices with square make it nearly impossible to use the auto-payment feature on Melio.
Melio makes it easier for us to keep track of all our orders.
It integrates with Quickbooks. This feature makes sending payment requests so much easier. A couple of clicks and a payment request is sent to the vendor of choice.
The downside is the payment issues at times. Larger payments can be delayed even after receiving confirmation emails.
We do not accept direct credit card payments. Melio allows our vendors to pay invoices with credit and/or debit cards as well as check or ACH.
Easy to use, can set up monthly payouts ahead of time. Another great feature is most people can have their checks directly deposited into an account once they finish the setup. You can also have a check mailed if you only need to send a vendor a payment once or twice a year. Also, you can pay employees or vendors from your checking account or a credit card. This is a handy feature.
The average turnaround time is three business days on a check. If you want it quicker, you can pay for a quicker service. On auto pay it takes a few extra steps to get this set up and it's not always easy to see how to do it.
We do not have to allot of problems with this system. We keep things very basic and use them for contract workers (their monthly payments) and payment of bills.
The ease of use is what I like best. Most vendors these days accept Melio payments which makes it super easy to upload an invoice and get a vendor paid! I haven't used competitors' for my online payments because once I found Melio, I didn't need to look further.
To be honest, there aren't really any downsides to using Melio. From time to time there have been brief issues with old invoices being listed in the queue that were already paid but other than that, things have been very seamless.
The biggest thing I need is for a software program to pay my vendors in a streamlined way. That is what Melio does for our company. They make it easy and efficient to pay our regular vendors and new vendors alike.
I love being able to pay bills from one website (Quickbooks) without needing to log-in to my bank or PayPal. The payments are recorded against the corresponding invoices in Quickbooks Online and save me lots of time on monthly tasks.
The lead time for mailing checks is not ideal.
Saving time and reducing errors on financial record-keeping.
The ease of accessing multiple clients at once
Nothing!! It truly is an easy system to use!
Ease of payments to vendors!
Melio makes managing the payment process extremely easy. It integrates into our system seamlessly. We are very happy with our experience.
Cannot make foreign payments. We have to use a different source to make payments outside the US.
It makes managing payments very easy.
I love the simplicity of the program and more importantly, what it allows my business to do. There is more flexibility when you know you can throw a certain expense on a credit card, they'll still receive their money, and you can pay that off as your cash flow allows.
Support took longer to get back to me than I expected
Our cash flow is crazy this time of year (seasonal business), so using Melio allows us to be more flexible with our accounts payable.
I enjoy the convenience and user friendly interface of Melio. It is easy to add vendors and schedule automated payments which is another big upside of the app.
One issue I had with Melio was payments would sometimes get delayed even after payment was deducted from our checking out. It was only after alerting their customer service were they able to help process payment.
Melio is helping to pay all our vendors in a way that is easy to track. It is also beneficial in setting up future scheduled payments.
Straight forward and easy to leverage for the office which went remote with COVID. Appreciate the link to QuickBooks
Limited need for the accountant platform - we don't really leverage it much and not sure what the value would be.
We went hybrid/remote with COVID which made bill payment difficult without leveraging the bank's online bill platform which didn't incorporate with QBO. This solved a huge issue.
Direct payment to vendor, easy to use and track information and past payments.
I wish it would sync more efficiently with our bills in QuickBooks. Our payment process involves paying them first in QB, then paying each of them one by one in Melio. Very time consuming.
We kept having checks getting lost in the mail so this helps solve these issues.
